About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Invitation Homes. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality maintenance work in our single-family rental homes while providing exceptional customer service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete maintenance service requests across multiple trades, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, promoting a quality living experience for all residents and fostering a positive reputation for Invitation Homes.
  • Conduct regular ProCare visits in residents' homes to perform proactive maintenance and repairs, identifying potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Educate residents on maintenance topics, empowering them to take an active role in maintaining their homes.
  • Complete general property condition assessments at all property visits, alerting the property management team to any items requiring immediate attention.
  • Review and utilize Technician-specific reports to identify opportunities for improvement, driving continuous quality enhancement.
  • Perform repairs in vacant properties while they are on-the-market or during the turn process, ensuring seamless transitions for residents.
  • Properly use and care for company-supplied tools, materials, and vehicles, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the maintenance team.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • OSHA 10 certification required (new hires will have up to 90 days to complete OSHA 10 certification if not already certified).
  • Proven experience in residential repairs and maintenance, other building maintenance, or related experience.
  • Understanding of residential construction and mechanical systems, with the ability to perform general repairs in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sheetrock, exterior structural, HVAC (minor), and appliances.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with strong verbal and written communication skills; multi-lingual a plus.
  • Comfortability using mobile devices (i.e. iPad and/or iPhone) and various mobile applications.
  • Must possess a current driver's license, automobile insurance, and any other licenses and/or certification as required by state law.
  • The following certifications are preferred but not required: EPA Certification, Type I and II; HVAC Certification; CPO certification (pool).
  • Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to provide basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent climbing, reaching, use of fingers, stooping, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking, and hearing.
  • Ability to lift and/or move an excess of 50 pounds or more and operate standard maintenance equipment as assigned.
