Job Summary

A Radiologic Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare team at Lexington Medical Center, working under the supervision of a Radiology Supervisor and indirectly under the guidance of a radiologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating X-ray and fluoroscopy equipment to obtain high-quality radiologic images, which are essential for physicians to determine diagnoses and develop treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate X-ray and fluoroscopy equipment to produce high-quality radiologic images
  • Position patients to ensure accurate and safe imaging procedures
  • Apply knowledge of radiation protection principles to minimize patient exposure
  • Examine images to evaluate techniques, positioning, and other technical qualities
  • Exercise discretion and judgment in performing medical imaging procedures
  • Provide patient care and support during radiologic procedures
  • Recognize emergency patient conditions and initiate lifesaving first aid
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Current South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association license
  • Current CPR certification
