Job Title: Per Diem Crisis Outreach Responder

The Mental Health Association is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Per Diem Crisis Outreach Responder to join our 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Team in Hudson County. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to individuals experiencing mental health or substance use disorder crises in the community.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced crisis response professional to provide evidenced-based crisis services to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of crisis intervention principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing mental health or substance use disorder crises in the community.
  • Collaborate with community providers and 988 managing entity to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Develop and implement systems for on-going follow-up with community members in need of connections to social services.
  • Support individuals to de-escalate crisis and provide transportation to crisis stabilization and receiving centers, certified community behavioral health clinics, or hospital's emergency departments as needed.
  • Record keeping, reports, and documentation in accordance with program requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited institution with two years post-bachelor's professional experience required.
  • Valid NJ driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to provide effective crisis response and de-escalation as related to community mental health.
  • Professionals with experience in a crisis setting are preferred.
