Per Diem Crisis Outreach Responder Position

The Mental Health Association is seeking a skilled Per Diem Crisis Outreach Responder to join our 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Team in Hudson County. As a key member of our team, you will provide crisis services to individuals experiencing mental health or substance use disorder crises in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide evidenced-based crisis services to individuals in need, as identified by the 988-managing entity.
- Collaborate with community providers and 988 managing entity to ensure effective crisis response and de-escalation.
- Support individuals to de-escalate crisis and provide transportation to crisis stabilization and receiving centers, certified community behavioral health clinics, or hospital's emergency departments for appropriate care and treatment.
- Develop systems for on-going follow up for community members in need of connections to social services that can enhance prevention of non-emergency calls and increase early intervention treatment access.
- Complete direct follow up with identified clients and collateral contacts as needed to facilitate access to appropriate services based on immediate client needs.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a mental health related field from an accredited institution with two years post bachelor's professional experience required.
- The ability to provide effective crisis response and de-escalation as related to community mental health in the community.
- A valid NJ driver's license and a good driving record.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with community providers and 988 managing entity.
