At Luxottica of America Inc., we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Optician. As a key member of our optical team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional guest service and driving profitable sales growth.

Job Summary:

The Apprentice Optician will be responsible for fostering a retail selling culture, practicing and role-playing effective retail sales skills, and developing professional business relationships with other team members. You will also be responsible for verifying visual acuity, analyzing and interpreting prescriptions, and selecting and measuring frames for facial contour, eye size, bridge size, and temple length.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive profitable store sales by fostering a retail selling culture and practicing effective retail sales skills.
  • Develop professional business relationships with other team members.
  • Verify visual acuity and analyze and interpret prescriptions.
  • Select and measure frames for facial contour, eye size, bridge size, and temple length.
  • Fits and adjusts eyewear to the face and eyes.
  • Dispense contact lenses.
  • Fills ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fits and adapts lenses and frames within the guidelines established by the state.
Requirements:
  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • Actively enrolled in a state-approved Optician Apprentice program.
  • 2+ years in retail or customer service position.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Independent and self-motivated.
  • Ability to grow sales through sales skills.
  • Enthusiastic and concise communication.
  • Attention to detail.
