Resumen: Este puesto actúa como un puente para facilitar el desarrollo del estudiante de terapia respiratoria, a medida que transiciona de su rol académico a un nivel inicial como terapeuta respiratorio.
Responsabilidades Principales:
- Bajo la supervisión de un terapeuta respiratorio licenciado, podrá realizar procedimientos básicos y rutinarios de terapia respiratoria, incluyendo terapia de oxígeno, pulsioximetría, terapia de aerosol y espirómetro de incentivo.
- Organiza y mantiene el suministro de equipos y materiales de terapia respiratoria según los estándares específicos del departamento.
- Recoge equipos de todas las áreas del hospital, limpiando y reensamblando el equipo de acuerdo con los procedimientos adecuados, observando las precauciones estándar.
- Completa las competencias anuales del hospital. Aprende sobre nuevos equipos/materiales, procedimientos y procesos necesarios para desempeñar su trabajo de manera adecuada.
- Realiza diversas tareas de posicionamiento y transporte de pacientes, que requieren levantar y empujar/tirar, utilizando la técnica adecuada (si aplica).
- Debe demostrar conocimientos y habilidades necesarias para proporcionar atención adecuada a la edad de los pacientes atendidos, así como la capacidad de evaluar datos que reflejen el estado del paciente e interpretar la información necesaria para identificar los requisitos de cada paciente en relación con sus necesidades específicas de edad.
Licencias, Registro y/o Certificación Requerida:
- Certificación de Soporte Vital Básico (BLS) para Proveedores de Atención Médica emitida por la Asociación Americana del Corazón (AHA).
Educación Requerida:
- Estar actualmente matriculado en un programa acreditado o aprobado en Terapia Respiratoria.
Experiencia Requerida:
- No se requiere experiencia previa.
Conocimientos, Habilidades y Capacidades Requeridas:
- Externos de Wisconsin: Deben transitar a la posición de terapeuta respiratorio graduado de inmediato.
- Externos de Illinois: El estatus de un extern no debe exceder los 3 años desde la fecha de inscripción en un programa aprobado.
- Fuertes habilidades interpersonales y organizativas, además de la capacidad para funcionar de manera independiente.
Requisitos Físicos y Condiciones de Trabajo:
- Se requerirá caminar, estar de pie, agacharse, alcanzar por encima de los hombros y sentarse durante la jornada laboral.
- Uso repetitivo de las manos, incluyendo agarre simple, empujar/tirar y manipulación fina.
- Debe ser capaz de:
- levantar hasta 50 lbs. del suelo a la cintura.
- levantar hasta 20 lbs. por encima de la cabeza.
- cargar hasta 40 lbs. a una distancia razonable.
- Debe ser capaz de:
- empujar/tirar con 30 lbs. de fuerza.
- realizar una transferencia deslizante de 150 lbs. con una segunda persona presente.
- Debe tener habla, visión y audición funcionales.
- Puede estar expuesto a riesgos químicos y de radiación, así como a fluidos corporales; por lo tanto, se debe usar equipo de protección personal según sea necesario.
- Opera todo el equipo necesario para realizar el trabajo.
