CARE is seeking a skilled Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Critical Care team. As a critical care veterinary technician, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care to patients and delivering exceptional customer service to our clients.
Responsibilities- Assist the criticalist in all aspects of care, including administering medications, performing physical exams, and providing compassionate customer service.
- Administer IV, IM, SQ, and oral medications as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Assist in physical exams, including taking vital signs and performing diagnostic tests.
- Provide compassionate customer service to our clients, including educating them on their pet's condition and treatment options.
- Perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, and other laboratory procedures as needed.
- Assist in the safe induction, maintenance, and monitoring of critical patients under anesthesia.
- Skilled at digital radiology acquisition and knowledge of automated laboratory lab analyzers.
- Able to lift 40lbs unassisted and safely restrain patients for extended periods of time.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of veterinary technician experience, with extensive ER experience required.
- Knowledge of manual laboratory assay and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- 80-hours of PTO initially, with more available with tenure.
