The Maintenance Technician is a key member of the hotel operations team, responsible for ensuring the physical plant and equipment of the hotel are well-maintained and functioning properly. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities- Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities, equipment, and grounds to identify and address any maintenance issues.
- Complete Work Orders: Respond to and complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance: Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor and Maintain Equipment: Regularly inspect and maintain hotel equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Ensure Safety and Security: Identify and report any potential safety hazards, and take steps to mitigate risks to guests, staff, and hotel assets.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other departments, including housekeeping, engineering, and front office, to ensure seamless operations and excellent guest service.
- Education and Experience: Advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, electricity, and equipment mechanics.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with guests, staff, and management, and to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Physical Demands: Ability to frequently stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility, and to carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 75 pounds.
