Job Summary

The Senior Orthopedic Nurse Manager ensures and delivers exceptional patient-centered care and coordinates all functions in the unit/department during their designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, they direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serve as a resource person for staff, and model a commitment to the organization's vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

Responsibilities
  • Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient-centered care.
  • Participates in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Serves as a role model for employees, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
  • Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, including developing and implementing training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Assists with staff scheduling, ensuring that adequate staffing levels are maintained to meet patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
  • Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • 1 year of Nursing experience.
  • Registered Nurse Diploma, or Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
