The in-house legal team member will deliver efficient and timely legal services to our companies. The attorney will be responsible for coordinating and preparing legal documents related to franchising and other business matters under the supervision of the Deputy General Counsel. This includes providing disclosure documents to prospective franchisees, processing franchise agreements, maintaining legal files, managing critical dates, and tracking essential information. The role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

This position will engage directly with the executive team, staff, franchisees, and key vendors to ensure the provision of timely and effective legal services. A successful candidate will embody our core values of Joy, Teamwork, Achievement, and Integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a diverse range of commercial agreements and legal documents pertinent to our operational units (franchise operations, marketing, product distribution, IT, accounting, etc.).
  • Draft, review, and negotiate documents related to commercial leases.
  • Consult with executives, management, advisors, accountants, and marketing personnel on legal and operational matters.
  • Provide guidance on employment-related issues.
  • Assist with additional responsibilities as required; the above list is not exhaustive and may evolve.

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Admitted to practice law in at least one state.
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in commercial transactional law, either in a law firm or an in-house legal department.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Familiarity with electronic signature platforms (e.g., DocuSign).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Capable of working in an office environment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Willingness to travel domestically.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $90,000-$105,000 annually, based on experience. This role is eligible for a discretionary bonus contingent on company and individual performance, subject to board approval.
