At the YMCA of Greater Waukesha County, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Aquatics Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our aquatics department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our members and guests in our pools and aquatic areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a lifeguard and/or swim instructor, creating a safe and welcoming environment for all.
  • Prevent accidents by scanning assigned zones and enforcing health and safety rules.
  • Conduct swim classes in accordance with Y of the USA's Swimming Lesson Program.
  • Exercise mature judgment and strong decision-making skills, especially in emergency situations.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with members, participants, and staff.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve our mission.

Requirements:

  • YMCA Lifeguard or Red Cross lifeguard certification.
  • At least 6 months of swim instructor experience.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment and sound decision-making.
  • Positive and firm communication skills.
  • Observant and safety-conscious.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and have full range of body movement.
