Memorial Regional Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist for a full-time day shift role, operating from 6 am to 6:30 pm. This position may require availability on weekends and holidays. Our department prides itself on a collaborative and supportive environment, ensuring high-quality care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer safe and effective respiratory care as per physician directives, with a focus on specialty areas including Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Critical Care.
- Monitor mechanical ventilation and assess patient conditions, while administering necessary medications.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all respiratory care procedures in accordance with departmental policies.
- Participate in departmental meetings, patient care rounds, and mandatory training sessions.
- Provide training and orientation for new staff and students in the field.
- Perform arterial blood gas draws and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Engage in continuous education and training to stay current with best practices in respiratory care.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a COARC accredited Respiratory Care Program with the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Minimum of one year of experience in general respiratory care and mechanical ventilation.
- Knowledge in cardiac diagnostics is preferred.
