Eyewear Specialist

The Optical Consultant plays a crucial role in the success of our business by providing exceptional service to patients seeking eyewear solutions. This position involves assisting patients in selecting the right eyewear that complements their needs and lifestyle.

• Exceptional Patient Experience: Deliver a remarkable experience to each patient, ensuring they fully understand our tailored recommendations for eyewear products and services.
• Clientele Development: Build and maintain a loyal clientele through outstanding service and referrals.
• Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the latest company and industry products, including manufacturer rebates and various types of lenses and frames.
• Order Management: Handle patient inquiries regarding order status and resolve any issues, escalating to management when necessary.
• Patient Records: Retrieve and manage patient charts and electronic health records efficiently.
• Frame Selection Assistance: Guide patients in choosing frames, lens types, and treatments based on their specific needs and measurements.
• Patient Education: Educate patients on the proper care of eyeglasses and contact lenses.
• Measurement Collection: Accurately collect eye and facial measurements to ensure a proper fit.
• Prescription Interpretation: Understand and interpret prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists.
• Work Order Creation: Generate detailed work orders for lab technicians, specifying lens requirements.
• Order Follow-Up: Monitor pending orders, ensuring timely delivery and keeping patients informed of any delays.
• Dispensing Eyewear: Inspect and dispense eyewear, ensuring proper fit and soliciting patient feedback.
• Adjustment and Repair: Utilize various tools to adjust eyewear for optimal visual acuity and comfort.
• Communication: Maintain regular communication with technicians and management regarding patient needs and order statuses.
• Final Product Inspection: Ensure the final product meets quality standards, cleaning and polishing lenses as needed.
• Store Maintenance: Keep the store environment clean and organized, including displays and work areas.
• Product Sales: Promote and sell additional products such as cleaners, contact lens supplies, and sunglasses.

• High School Diploma
• Preferred: Minimum of one year of experience as an Optician
• Preferred: Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
• Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
• Dependable and punctual
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods
