Design Engineer Job Description

Are you a skilled engineer looking to advance your career in the construction industry?

Ceco Concrete Construction is seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and estimating projects to ensure efficient, safe, and economical form systems are incorporated into project designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate framework layout drawings and erection instructions for field crews.
  • Work closely with the project team to monitor safety, cost, and scheduling of construction projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve concerns regarding structural design with project team.
  • Contribute to project safety goals by reducing hazards during the design planning stage.
  • Oversee and coordinate material purchases, deliveries, tracking, and forecasting to ensure maximum resource utilization.
  • Stay up-to-date with innovative developments and incorporate advancements in formwork systems and equipment to expand productivity and capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships to enhance company's ability to procure projects and reduce risk.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related engineering degree.
  • Minimum of five years' work experience performing similar primary position responsibilities with exceptional performance.
  • Advanced knowledge of BIM Modeling and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of construction formwork systems, take-offs, and estimating processes obtained from education or industry experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work with all levels of the organization.
