Pediatric Registered Nurse

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:
- Support physicians and healthcare staff in the daily management of patient care and access.
- Act as a communication bridge between patients, staff, and physicians.
- Ensure smooth patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Provide direct patient care within the limits of licensure and according to organizational policies.
- Collect and label lab specimens in compliance with departmental protocols.
- Prioritize patient care by executing physician orders and nursing protocols.
- Prepare necessary information for patient visits to ensure efficient consultations.
- Communicate any issues or concerns to the Office Supervisor/Manager in a timely manner.
- Verify patient identity before administering and documenting care.
- Utilize the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system effectively for task management.
- Accurately obtain and document vital signs: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, height, and weight.
- Administer injections following established protocols and document accordingly.
- Implement telephone triage protocols and maintain accurate EHR documentation.
- Schedule patient appointments in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Adhere to universal safety precautions when handling medications and disposing of medical waste.
- Review and update medication lists in the EHR, ensuring accuracy in allergy documentation.
- Enter orders and manage appointments in the Practice Management System (PMS) and EHR.
- Facilitate timely referrals and consult orders in the PMS and EHR.
- Maintain logs for emergency equipment as per policy requirements.
- Assist in the transition of care to urgent care or hospital settings.
- Demonstrate proficiency with departmental equipment and report any malfunctions promptly.
- Assist in the procurement and management of medical supplies as assigned.
- Exhibit flexibility in adapting to various work schedules.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Ability to push and pull objects, considering weight and frequency.
- Physical strength to lift heavy items as necessary.
- Mobility to move throughout the workplace efficiently.
- Agility to maneuver in confined spaces.
- Dexterity to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills.
- Maintain balance while climbing, bending, or reaching.
- Endurance for prolonged periods of standing, walking, or typing.
- Exposure to chemicals and fumes.

- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Current New Jersey State Nursing License and BLS certification required.
- 0-1 years of nursing experience; 2-4 years preferred.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Able to manage diverse tasks under time constraints with high accuracy.
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Familiarity with standard office equipment and technology preferred.
- Experience with patient care equipment and EHR systems preferred.
- Willingness to commute to various locations as needed.
