Overview:
RWJBarnabas Health is in search of a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Pediatrics Unit at the New Brunswick campus. This role is essential in providing high-quality nursing care to our young patients.

Qualifications:

Mandatory:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
- PALS Certification
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- 3 to 5 years of experience in pediatric nursing
- Proficient in computer applications

Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion within 5 years of hire
- Extensive experience in pediatric nursing

Certifications and Licenses:

Mandatory:
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Valid New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Work Schedule Requirements:
Night shift, 18 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:


The Pediatric Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering nursing care within the established scope of practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards. The nurse must uphold ethical standards of practice as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.


Ensuring safety in practice is paramount, and the nurse must engage in evidence-based practices while being aware of their own knowledge and experience levels. The nurse is accountable for enhancing their own knowledge and that of the patient care team through effective communication and resource utilization.


The nurse must report any identified safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.


Understanding the specific patient population served is crucial, and the nurse is responsible for supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members while collaborating with other healthcare providers.


Consistently setting and evaluating priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes is a key responsibility.


The Pediatric Registered Nurse functions as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care provision and tailoring the care plan to meet the unique needs of each patient.
