Job Summary

As a Utility Engineer at Oakland Venue Management, Inc., you will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and implementing improvements for our program on Alcatraz Island in San Francisco. This role requires a hands-on team member who can lead and perform all diesel engine repairs, recommend and install new systems, and diagnose and repair vessel media systems.

The ideal candidate will have 2 years of industry experience, a working knowledge of industry standard engineering tools and techniques, and functional understanding of electricity and relevant safe industry practices. They will also possess OEM-level craftsmanship of parts and system design, as well as HAZWOPER and forklift certifications.

The Utility Engineer will serve as a liaison between the company and outside contractors, work side by side to complete repairs, and ensure completion of all logs and tasks in a reliable and accurate manner. They will also maintain tools and workspace in a clean and operational state and perform maintenance on tools when applicable.

The position offers a competitive salary of $47.00 - $49.00 per hour, annual bonus eligibility, health, dental, and mental wellness insurance coverage for employees and dependents, and a 401(k) plan with employer match.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform all diesel engine repairs across a wide array of machinery.
  • Recommend and install new systems and novel solutions.
  • Repair and replace all pilothouse electronics.
  • Diagnose and repair vessel media systems.
  • Serve as liaison between company and outside contractors.
  • Rebuild and maintain all pumps and pump systems.
  • Interpret Laboratory test data and report summarized results or issues to management.
  • Ensure completion of all logs and tasks in a reliable and accurate manner.
  • Maintain tools and workspace in a clean and operational state.
