Job Title:
Senior Utility Engineer

This entry-level Engineering position requires the design and analysis of distribution and transmission poles to support our customer (an Electric Utility).

This position collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments and support customer needs as they arise, through effective communication & diligence.


As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively to lead the industry in performing superior utility infrastructure construction and maintenance services.

Job Type:
Full-Time +, Non-

Exempt Pay:
$24-$30/hr DOE + Stipend for use of personally owned vehicle

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Prepares model, design, and project documentation for customers based on power utility requirements.

Assigns tasks to and coordinates work with junior engineers, designers, drafters, or administrative staff.

Apply engineering knowledge in the design of distribution and transmission poles for the installation, replacement, and upgrading.

Ensure structures are compliant with G.O.95 & SDG&E construction standards.

Work well with all internal team members, utility customers, and our own clients.

High-paced, interactive environment with effective communication & teamwork attitude is needed.

Use PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, MFAD, GIS-based drafting tools, and more.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older.

Effective communication & teamwork attitude

Ability and willingness to work occasional extra hours to support clients and deadlines, including weekends

Ability to use & learn various software programs (Microsoft Office, GIS, AutoCAD)

Must have reliable transportation

Must be in the San Diego region or willing to relocate to San Diego.

Education & Experience:
B.S. Degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering is required.

E.I.T Preferred.

Pre-Screen:

License & Certifications:
A valid Driver's License is required.
