Kanaan Communications, LLC is seeking a skilled Directional Drill Operator/Locator to join our team. As a key member of our outside plant construction team, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining drilling equipment on job sites.
Responsibilities- Operate and maintain drilling equipment, including directional drills, backhoes, and skid steers, to ensure safe and efficient completion of projects.
- Set up and maintain a safe work environment, including the use of signage, cones, and safety barriers, to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Communicate effectively with crew members and other stakeholders to coordinate movement and ensure safe working conditions.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in drilling equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to lift and carry 80 pounds regularly, with or without assistance.
- Physical stamina to work in outdoor environments with varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Basic knowledge of utility trucks and equipment operation.
- Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify underground utilities.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in the utility construction industry.
- Unrestricted Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement.
- Ability to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilities.
