Building Plans Examiner I

About the Role:
The Building Plans Examiner I position at Tranquil Multi Dynamic Advisory is a critical role that requires a high level of expertise in building construction and codes. As a Building Plans Examiner, you will be responsible for reviewing plans and applications, coordinating reviews of Fire Marshal, Electrical/Plumbing Inspections, and preparing comments for code deficiencies.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews plans and applications to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Coordinates reviews of Fire Marshal, Electrical/Plumbing Inspections, and other relevant inspections.
- Prepares comments for code deficiencies and provides recommendations for corrections.
- Calculates fees for services provided.
- Attends meetings with staff, engineers, architects, and contractors to discuss project plans and progress.
- Maintains proficiency with code changes and ordinances.
- Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from a computer system.
- Answers questions from the public regarding building codes and regulations.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Five (5) years' experience in construction, design, or inspections of buildings as a supervisor or contractor.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and maintenance of a clean driving history.
- Possession and maintenance of State of Florida-mandated licensing Requirements.
Working Conditions:
The Building Plans Examiner I position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds, and be able to stand and walk for extended periods. The employee must also be able to work in outdoor weather conditions, uneven surfaces, and dusty environments.
