Early Intervention Occupational Therapist Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Early Intervention Occupational Therapist to join our team at HSMC. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality services to families with children birth to 3 years of age with developmental delays or at risk for developmental delays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of all areas of infant-toddler development.
  • Utilize a parent coaching model in work with families to empower them to support their child's growth and development.
  • Participate in screenings, assessments, child groups, parent groups, center visits, and home visits as a member of a trans-disciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide home-based services to families across the catchment area, fostering a supportive environment for children to thrive.
  • Collaborate with community providers to ensure continuity of services for families, including child care providers, medical providers, social service agencies, and specialty providers serving children with autism or hearing/vision loss.
  • Provide service coordination to assigned caseload, including coordinating the development, monitoring, and review of the Individual Family Service Plan.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from a college or university.
  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Allied Professional Health.
  • Two (2) years of pediatric experience preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe, and Office365 including Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Ability to use computer-based technology, including a computer/laptop and cell phone.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
