Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Procurement Manager is tasked with acquiring goods and services, which includes managing warehouse inventory, direct receiving items, and special vendor purchases. This role requires astute buying decisions and the ability to assess vendor quotes and services to identify the most cost-effective suppliers, ensuring optimal pricing and quantities at the necessary times. Furthermore, this position oversees all warehouse personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate requisitions, liaise with vendors, and procure goods based on established prices, quantities, and quality standards, ensuring timely acquisition to meet store demands.
  • Engage with various stakeholders to comprehend needs and proactively address potential issues.
  • Negotiate the most favorable terms regarding price, quantity, quality, service levels, and delivery timelines.
  • Conduct research and maintain communication with current and prospective vendors to foster relationships, negotiate cost-effective agreements, and service contracts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders to sustain optimal stock levels that satisfy user requirements.
  • Oversee the management and upkeep of equipment.
  • Administer contracts and handle related administrative tasks.
  • Supervise the management of Purchasing and Inventory budgets.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce costs associated with common materials and services.
  • Forecast future demand and place timely orders based on vendor lead times.
  • Establish and nurture vendor relationships, including site visits.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising to resolve vendor-related issues and manage vendor transitions and potential product introductions.
  • Direct all warehouse staff operations.
  • Utilize personal vehicle for company-related business as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred experience in purchasing and warehouse management within the food and beverage sector across multiple locations.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in purchasing and warehouse management within the hospitality industry.
  • Experience working with unions.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and management capabilities.
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
  • Availability to work beyond standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
