About the Job:
We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Caf Borgia As a key member of our culinary team, you will assist the Executive Chef in leading kitchen operations and ensuring exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities:
* Assist the Executive Chef in managing the kitchen team, including scheduling, training, and evaluating staff performance* Create and implement recipes, menus, and plating designs to enhance the dining experience* Coordinate food preparation, presentation, and plating for all menu items* Work closely with the purchasing team to source high-quality ingredients and supplies* Maintain accurate records of food costs, inventory, and waste* Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and events* Provide exceptional customer service and handle guest complaints* Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and discuss menu offerings, promotions, and service standards* Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and hosts/hostesses to ensure seamless service* Perform routine cleaning and sanitation tasks to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment* Develop and implement menu engineering strategies to increase sales and profitability* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in culinary arts* Attend industry events, workshops, and conferences to network and learn* Other duties as assigned by the restaurant owner.

Requirements:
* 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant* Proven track record of success in managing kitchen staff, maintaining high-quality dishes, and controlling costs* Excellent leadership and communication skills* Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and cooking techniques* Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines* Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and move quickly in a fast-paced environment* Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays* High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in culinary arts preferred* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital ordering systems* Valid Food Safety Certification.* Estimated salary: $50,000 - $70,000 per year.
