Job Summary:

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Armed Security Officer to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility in hours and the ability to rotate between facilities, including travel when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular security patrols of hospital facilities and grounds to identify and report potential security threats.
  • Respond to emergency situations, including code calls and internal/external disaster events, and provide support as needed.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations of reported incidents and gather information to support incident reports.
  • Enforce hospital policies and procedures, as well as state laws, to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Assist with combative patients or visitors, and provide support to clinical/non-clinical staff as needed.
  • Participate in training and education programs to maintain and enhance security skills and knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by security supervisors or managers.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years of armed security experience (may be substituted by honorable military service) preferred.
  • Law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Healthcare security experience preferred.
  • Active Level 3 Certification (Texas) required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
