Job Description

This pivotal role oversees all aspects of payroll operations, including bi-weekly processes, report production, error correction, garnishments, federal and state levies, tax filings, and reconciliations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the county's payroll services, providing technical guidance, updating policies, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of governmental accounting, financial reporting, and payroll federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
• Proven experience in running full in-house payroll end-to-end using complex systems like SAP ERP or similar platforms.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, communicate effectively, and facilitate resolutions.
• Strong supervisory experience, including staff management and leadership development.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or attainment within 18 months.
