Job Description



As an Environmental Compliance Specialist Lead at Ryder System, Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's environmental policies and regulations are met at our supply chain warehouse locations. With a deep understanding of customer, operational, and regulatory needs, you will develop and implement effective environmental controls to reduce risk, costs, and improve compliance.



In this role, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day compliance support to warehouse facilities, conducting routine facility audits and compliance visits, and staying up-to-date with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. You will also update and expand field management tools and programs to enhance environmental support and awareness, including training for waste management, spill response, and regulatory reporting.



Additionally, you will perform data analysis and reporting, measuring waste spend, communicating results, and providing cost savings recommendations. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.



Required Skills and Qualifications



To be successful in this position, you will need:



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field
  • Five years or more of progressively responsible experience in environmental compliance, with a focus on large corporations
  • Intermediate knowledge of environmental laws impacting the transportation and logistics industry
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
