Job Summary

Banner Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Occupational Health team in Phoenix, Arizona. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinicians in delivering high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clinicians with exams and minor in-office procedures, including taking vital signs, documenting patient information, and performing phlebotomies.
  • Coordinate and manage patient care, including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital, and other ancillary medical treatments and tests.
  • Provide clerical support, including complete medical records, notifications, and documentation, as well as accurate information for billing purposes.
  • Maintain a clean and functional environment, including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms, and storage areas.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication mechanisms with external and internal customers, exemplifying service orientation and the team concept in all contacts.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
  • Knowledge as normally obtained through graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program.
  • Current BLS certification is required upon hire.
  • Medical Assistant Certification is required, with 12 months from the date of hire to obtain certification if not already certified.
