Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Coordinator to join our dynamic team at Sonoran Desert Institute. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all student accounts by coordinating the setup, collection, payments, stipends, and refunds throughout the student life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all Federal, State, accreditation, and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate payment plans with students for balances owed to school.
  • Ensure all charges and payment transactions are processed and recorded properly on a daily basis.
  • Post all funds received in a timely manner.
  • Process all employer scholarship and 529K plan documents/invoices.
  • Schedule credit balance stipends and refunds.
  • Assist as needed in identifying and scheduling refunds due to students for withdrawal, credit load reduction, or dropped courses.
  • Maintain student account records.
  • Process refund and stipend checks on a timely and compliant basis.
  • Maintain knowledge of SDI's pricing model and refund policies.
  • Communicate daily with students via phone and email communication, for all cash, scholarship or employer sources of funding, while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with file reviews, audits and other regulatory requirements as needed.
  • Collect necessary documentation for completion of files.
  • Process pending charges and tuition waivers.
  • Update all necessary systems with pertinent student information.
  • Collect on prior balances by coordinating student payments.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of billing.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations as directed.
