We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Radiology ED Associate to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our Radiology Business Services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Diagnostic Radiology department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff, ensuring timely and accurate communication throughout the department.
- Screen and transfer incoming phone calls to the appropriate areas, facilitating efficient department communication and representation.
- Perform Image Library functions to assist patients, referring physicians, and radiologists, including importing patient exams from referring institutions.
- Provide backup support to the Radiology Communications Command Center, ensuring critical results are received electronically or via phone call by referring clinicians.
- Support and participate in department and hospital demands, recognizing the changing healthcare environment through self-enrichment and flexibility.
- Associate degree in Business or Healthcare Sciences/Administration strongly preferred or equivalent directly related experience required.
- Minimum of three (3) years clinical and/or administrative/clerical experience required or current enrollment in accredited Radiology program.
- Experience in Diagnostic Radiology and/or Emergency Department setting preferred.
- Understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and telephone communication skills; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Primarily sedentary work sitting within a clinical setting with minimum exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Requires occasional ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 15 lbs.
Continuous use of telephones, computer monitoring, and other office equipment requiring fingering and excellent keyboarding skills.
