Job Title: Per Diem Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Per Diem Registered Nurse to join our team at VIP Community Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for visits with healthcare providers by performing and recording vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, weight, and other procedures as needed.
  • Collect, record, and maintain patient information, including medical history, reports, and examination results.
  • Review patients' medical records for completeness and update prior to patient visits.
  • Assist in routine medical examinations by preparing the patient, equipment, and supplies, and assisting the healthcare provider as needed.
  • Prepare routine diagnostic request forms and assist in booking patients for tests and appointments with outside facilities and/or specialists.
  • Provide guidance to non-clinical staff regarding clinical issues, including phone triage.
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness in patients, including children and infants.
  • Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
  • Understand and follow VIP Community Services' Mission Statement, Organizational Policies, and Structure.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:

  • Current NYS Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Current Infection Control Certificate.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of similar work, internship, or volunteer experience required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Proficiency with computer technology.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all populations served.
