We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos. This role is responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in critical, non-critical, and chronically ill conditions.

About the Role

This position requires a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a strong background in respiratory therapy procedures, patient assessment, and care planning. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures, including airway management, aerosolized drug delivery, ventilator management, and oxygen therapy. They will also be required to participate in CAP and JC surveys, as well as provide education to patients and families on respiratory health.

Responsibilities
  • Provides respiratory care to patients in critical, non-critical, and chronically ill conditions.
  • Performs airway management, including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning, and airway retaining device placement and maintenance.
  • Delivers aerosolized drugs and manages ventilators, oxygen therapy, and BiPAP/CPAP devices.
  • Analyzes chest films, blood gas collections, EKGs, and waveform analysis.
  • Documents patient information accurately and completely.
  • Cleans and stocks equipment and supplies as necessary.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must hold a valid RRT license in the state of employment and have 1-3 years of experience in respiratory therapy. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. You must also possess BLS certification and be able to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Estimated Salary Range

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
