SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Payload Systems Engineer to support the Government customer in the oversight of the design, integration, and test of spacecraft payloads. This position requires an active Top Secret Clearance with SCI and a Polygraph.
Key Responsibilities- Assess the feasibility of new antennas and antenna functionality enhancements.
- Review and coordinate changes to specifications, interface control documents, and system-level requirements documentation pertaining to the functionality and accommodation of antennas onto the satellite bus.
- Identify and assess emerging risks; develop and evaluate proposed burn-down plans.
- Provide support to factory integration and test activities as required.
- Review antenna manufacturing specifications for accuracy and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
- Review drawings, documents, and procedures for antenna design, manufacturing, integration, program planning, and execution.
- Work with antenna models for performance evaluations and predictions.
- Attend antenna and payload-level design reviews and program management reviews to assess antenna design maturity, requirements compliance, and provide informed technical recommendations to the Government customer.
- Provide technical evaluation of payload efforts in contractor Engineering Change Proposals.
- Represent the Government's position during factory meetings with customer coordination and approval.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI Clearance and a Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree and 9 years or more experience; or a Master's degree and 7 years or more experience; or a PhD or JD and 4 years or more experience.
- Experience with spacecraft antenna design, manufacture, and test.
- Basic understanding of Defense and Intelligence Community (DoD/IC) satellite systems and architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to be effective in a Government/Contractor team environment.
- Able to travel domestically up to 25%.
