About the Role

The Georgia Department of Community Health is seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Healthcare Specialist to join our team. This is a home-based position located in the Central Region, with an average of four days per week spent conducting regional survey inspections in nursing homes.

As a Regulatory Healthcare Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting on-site surveys of long-term care facilities regulated by the state to determine compliance with applicable state and/or federal rules and regulations. You will work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team to review the quality of nursing care delivered in federal and state long-term care facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site surveys of long-term care facilities to determine compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Review and monitor facility policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Evaluate complex medical situations and prepare survey documents under tight deadlines.
  • Lead, plan, organize, and direct all nursing activities in assigned facilities.


Requirements
  • Master's degree in nursing, nursing administration, public health or directly related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
  • Current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
