In this role, you will oversee operational management for a designated area within our outpatient services during an 8-hour shift. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the healthcare professionals delivering patient services provide exceptional, accessible, and cost-efficient care that aligns with Kaiser Permanente's standards as well as local, state, and federal regulations. Within your assigned area, you will implement, supervise, and uphold clinical practice and quality management standards, budgets, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the operations and delivery of patient care services in your assigned area.
- Ensure that staff deliver the highest quality of care in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and relevant regulations.
- Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with physicians and other departments.
- Work alongside nursing and other departments to address patient care issues, enhance access, and improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain patient care and quality service standards to meet the expectations of members and internal clients.
- Act as a patient advocate to resolve care-related issues.
- Evaluate and recommend process improvements to enhance patient care outcomes.
- Assist in budget development and monitoring, resource allocation, and financial performance, identifying strategies to reduce costs while improving care quality.
- Oversee the use and maintenance of medical equipment, supplies, and medications.
- Support managers in developing and maintaining staff competencies.
- Ensure adherence to departmental policies and procedures that align with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with physicians and department leadership to optimize patient services and daily operations.
- Measure and enhance customer satisfaction for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in managing human resource and safety issues within the department.
Experience
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in outpatient care or a related field is required.
• AND
• At least one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience is required.
Education
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or a healthcare-related field, or four (4) years of relevant experience.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
License, Certification, Registration
• Active Registered Nurse License (California)
• Basic Life Support certification
Additional Requirements:
• Proven knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act and relevant regulations.
• Ability to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Clinical specialization in a relevant area (e.g., pediatrics) is preferred.
• Experience in Primary Care is preferred.
Notes:
• Work hours may vary.
• Shifts may start as early as 7:00 AM and end as late as 8:00 PM.
