Position Overview

The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services is seeking a dedicated Recovery Support Specialist to become an integral part of our Mobile Response team. This role is essential in assisting individuals experiencing crises across various age groups, helping them regain control over their lives and navigate their recovery journeys.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and guidance to individuals in crisis, fostering a safe and respectful environment.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to interact with both ODMHSAS staff and consumers professionally.
  • Adapt to flexible working hours, including opportunities for non-standard shifts with additional compensation.

Employment Type and Compensation:

  • Full-time position
  • Salary structure:
    • Senior Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist: $38, $18.26/hr plus benefits
    • Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist: $34, $16.58/hr plus benefits
    • Recovery Support Specialist: $30, $14.42/hr plus benefits
  • FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Additional Compensation: Employees working outside of standard business hours can benefit from shift differentials, enhancing their hourly pay rate. The following bonuses apply:

  • Evening/Nights - additional $0.50/hr
  • Weekends - additional $0.75/hr
  • Holidays - additional $0.75/hr
  • On-call - $1.00/hr

Qualifications:

  • Senior Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist: Requires current certification as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, a high school diploma or GED, and two years of relevant experience.
  • Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist: Requires current certification as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist and a high school diploma or GED.
  • Recovery Support Specialist: Requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to pursue certification as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist.
