Speech Language Path PRN Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Path (SLP) to join our team as a PRN (per diem) Speech Language Pathologist in our 16-bed Inpatient Rehab facility. As a Speech Language Pathologist at St. Mark's Hospital, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and contribute to the development of individualized therapy programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and establish treatment goals in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy programs to address communication, cognitive, and swallowing impairments.
  • Collaborate with Physical and Occupational Therapists to provide effective co-treatments and develop home programs.
  • Provide education and training to patients and families on speech and language skills, as well as strategies for communication and swallowing.
  • Participate in unit committees and contribute to program development and establishment of new procedures and service lines.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Speech Pathology program.
  • Current State of Utah Speech Language Pathologist license.
  • National certification by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association to practice Speech Language Pathology or Clinical Fellowship year.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • One year of related work experience in an acute-care setting is preferred.
