About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Substation Designer to join our team at FirstEnergy. As a Substation Designer, you will be responsible for developing designs for transmission and distribution substation projects from scope documents, protection specifications, engineering sketches, and verbal instructions.
Responsibilities
Developing designs for transmission and distribution substation projects
Reviewing estimates for substation projects
Preparing 3D AutoCAD drawings and bill of materials for substation projects
Creating layouts, sketches, and plans for substation physical equipment
Evaluating the arrangement and mounting of equipment to ensure compliance with NESC requirements
Requirements
2- or 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology
Minimum 0-3 years of related design experience
Working knowledge of applicable computer software necessary to fulfill job duties
