Job Title: Seasonal Occupational Therapist

Forrest General Hospital is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team on a seasonal basis. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality occupational therapy services to patients in our acute care setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement physician's orders for occupational therapy services
  • Provide all necessary aspects of occupational therapy in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Facilitate the return of patients to an independent and safe lifestyle
  • Assess patient status and interpret information to identify age-specific needs and provide appropriate care
  • Perform patient evaluations using appropriate functional tests/measures
  • Construct short-term and long-term goals, and patient/family goals with appropriate frequency
  • Perform physically demanding tasks of moving equipment and patients safely
  • Document securely in the Electronic Medical Record
  • Use critical thinking in patient evaluation and treatment planning
  • Understand and apply physical agent modalities such as moist heat and paraffin
  • Identify learning needs of patients or family members
  • Work as a team member to assist patients/families throughout the continuum of care
Requirements:
  • Minimum of one of the following as a Licensed Occupational Therapist: 1 year of full-time acute care experience, 2 years of skilled nursing/inpatient rehab facility experience, or 2 years of acute care experience working less than full-time hours
  • License: Licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Certifications: Proof of 2 hours of CVA-specific continuing education within the recent four months
