Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Service Assistant to join our team at Lifespan. As a Clinical Service Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the nursing staff in providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients during unit-to-unit transfers and to the morgue, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Collect and deliver specimens, cultures, and orders, maintaining accurate records and following established protocols.
  • Restock supplies and necessary items within units, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Obtain and deliver equipment as requested from Stores, the OR, and VIR, demonstrating a proactive approach to meeting the needs of the team.
  • Respond to all RRTs and Codes throughout the hospital, awaiting instruction from the Supervisor and prioritizing patient safety.
  • Replace used Code Carts after RRT or relevant code, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Escort visitors out of the hospital after visiting hours are over, ensuring a secure and respectful environment.
  • Maintain quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control in accordance with established hospital department policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, considering aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
Requirements
  • BLS certification is required.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One month to perform proficiently all basic duties.
Working Environment and Physical Requirements

The Clinical Service Assistant will work in an acute care hospital environment, where potential hazards are minimized by adherence to established safety procedures and precautions, including the use of safety equipment and protective clothing. The position requires frequent standing, walking, pushing stretchers/beds, sitting, lifting over 50 lbs with good body mechanics, and performing fine motor skills. The individual must have accurate near and far vision, 20/20 depth perception, and discriminate among colors.
