Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize Health and Safety by adhering to all safety protocols, policies, and procedures, and consistently acting in a safe manner.
  • Coordinate driver schedules and review daily logs to ensure adherence to DOT regulations.
  • Handle incoming customer and emergency calls to schedule appropriate responses.
  • Maintain effective communication among customers, drivers, and the central logistics team.
  • Ensure all equipment and vehicles receive regular preventive maintenance and schedule necessary repairs.
  • Provide compliance information, maintenance updates, safety data, and permitting to management.
  • Ensure drivers comply with federal and company regulations/policies.
  • Verify that driver logs, vehicle inspection reports, and job folders are completed daily.
  • Collaborate with customer service to understand shipping requirements and logistics.
  • Promote safety by ensuring personnel are equipped with the necessary personal protective equipment, work plans, and training.
  • Understand job profitability by efficiently scheduling and managing resources.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal compliance regulations and guidelines.
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT and other regulatory requirements.
  • Follow all corporate operating procedures and environmental health and safety guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in transportation or logistics.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, verbal, and written skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other computer skills.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks as required by the position.
  • Must successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and dispatching/logistics experience.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with RCRA/OSHA regulations.
