Job Description

As a Highway Technician Senior, you will play a key role in leading daily operations for a team of highway maintenance professionals. Your primary responsibility will be to prioritize and direct the work of the milling machine crew, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct the milling machine crew operations
  • Maintain and operate the milling machine, including statewide travel
  • Work with supervisors to coordinate work for the team
  • Perform basic office administration tasks via technical devices and software
  • Host daily meetings with the team
  • Oversee traffic control for maintenance activities
  • Coordinate snow operations and operate snow equipment
  • Administer monthly safety huddles with the team
  • Support internal CDL training efforts
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as accidents or emergency repairs

Requirements:

  • Valid Commercial Learner's Permit upon hire
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License with required endorsements and restrictions within 5 months of hire
  • Pre-employment drug screen and ongoing participation in the employer's random drug and alcohol testing program
  • Post-offer, pre-employment physical verifying physical ability to perform duties
  • Herbicide Applicator certification from the Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (if required)
  • Certification for testing materials and operating specialized equipment (if required)
