Job Summary:

The Paramedic I-IV is a critical member of our emergency department team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care and emergency medical services. This role requires a strong foundation in emergency medical techniques, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide emergency first aid treatment to patients.
  • Assist licensed personnel with the immediate recognition, evaluation, treatment, and disposition of patients in response to any medical, traumatic, psychiatric, or surgical emergency.
  • Perform technical functions, including administering EKGs, IVs, and bedside testing.
  • Provide basic patient care with consideration for age and developmental stage.
  • Transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher.
  • Notify nurse of abnormal findings or changes in patient status.
  • Perform clerical functions and access Epic.
  • Assist in monitoring adequate availability and stocking of supplies and equipment according to established par levels.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • State Registration as an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (EMT-P).
  • Current JPS recognized BLS certification and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • 4785 Paramedic I: years of relevant experience.
  • 4786 Paramedic II: years of relevant experience.
  • 4787 Paramedic III: years of relevant experience.
  • 4788 Paramedic IV: 10+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current JPS recognized Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Level 1 EKG Competency (subsequent to hire). Must be maintained throughout employment.
