Key Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, you will be accountable for assessing risk throughout the underwriting process, from submission to policy issuance, for both new and renewal business within designated authority limits.

Collaboration with Underwriters on various aspects of the underwriting process, including:

  1. Providing essential information to facilitate informed underwriting decisions.
  2. Conducting thorough underwriting analysis and documentation to evaluate risk acceptability in line with company standards.
  3. Managing endorsement requests within your authority and referring those outside your limits to the underwriter with suggested actions.
  4. Overseeing an assigned renewal portfolio, demonstrating the ability to prioritize renewal applications and outline necessary actions for the underwriter.
  5. Acting as a liaison within the branch and across CNA to address issues related to billing, collections, risk control, and underwriting guidance.
  6. Ensuring all assigned files are complete, compliant, and of high quality, including correspondence and proposals.
  7. Implementing advanced pricing strategies on behalf of the Underwriter, adhering to regulatory and CNA-specific guidelines.
  8. Preparing quote proposals and negotiating with external partners within your authority.
  9. Serving as the primary contact for producers/customers regarding account matters while identifying opportunities for upselling or account rounding.
  10. Assisting in marketing products and services through external partnerships and conducting field visits.
  11. Being a subject matter expert on systems and workflows, providing training and support to others.
  12. Staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and state/territory issues.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed.


Qualifications:

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  1. Understanding of Property and Casualty underwriting, including insurance products and policy processing.
  2. Excellent time management and analytical capabilities.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of internal and external partners.
  4. Proven ability to work independently on multiple tasks.
  5. Capability to advise and mentor others.
  6. Demonstrated customer service experience with diverse individuals.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.

Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Typically requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
