Job Summary:

Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital, a state-of-the-art acute rehabilitation hospital, is seeking a per diem Speech Language Pathologist with pediatric experience to work with Schenectady School District students enrolled in the Head Start Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to Schenectady area schools to treat children in a school setting
  • Formulate comprehensive treatment programs by evaluating patients with cognitive linguistic disorders, communication disorders, dysphagia/swallowing disorders, and voice/respiratory disorders
  • Identify and refer patients for related services (audiology, vocational, medical as appropriate)
  • Assess patient's rehab needs through the continuum of care and provides appropriate disposition, equipment, education, and treatment recommendations
  • Completes all documentation in accordance with professional, organizational, regulatory, and facility's compliance standards
  • Participates in initiatives that may include brainstorming or other activities to assist in improving quality or care, productivity, policies, and standards

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved Speech Pathology Therapy program with a Master's degree
  • Completion of Clinical Fellowship
  • Current NYS Speech Pathologist license and registration
  • Certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association
  • Experience with pediatric patients is a must
  • Flexibility, exceptional clinical reasoning skills, and excellent communication skills are essential

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Per diem rate is $50/hour
  • Experience-based pay range for full-time and part-time positions is $47.60
