Job Overview

Pride Health is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to support our client's healthcare systems in Lubbock, Texas. This is a contract assignment with a high likelihood of extension and a great opportunity to work with a top-tier healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and prepare patient samples for testing.
  • Conduct routine and specialized tests in areas like hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and immunology.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and performance.
  • Analyze test results and provide data for diagnostic decisions.
  • Perform quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of tests.
  • Maintain detailed records of test results and update patient information in the system.
  • Follow safety protocols and regulatory guidelines when handling samples and chemicals.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide insights based on lab results.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
  • Certification from a recognized body such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
  • Hands-on clinical laboratory training through internships or prior experience; generalist experience across multiple lab disciplines is often preferred.
