Electrical Preconstruction Manager Job Description

SOLV Energy is a leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) provider for utility solar, high voltage substation, and energy storage markets across North America.

Job Summary:

The Electrical Preconstruction Manager will be responsible for ensuring the constructability of electrical designs and coordinating pre-construction activities for utility-scale renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with SOLV Engineering, Estimating, Pre-Construction Project Management, Field Operations, and Field Installation teams to optimize electrical and structural project designs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and contractual project requirements.
  • Develop detailed installation drawings for field installation applications.
  • Generate accurate Bill of Material (BOM) and material take-offs for electrical components.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Pre-Construction Project Management teams to source and procure required materials.
  • Provide value engineering suggestions for alternative products and solutions.
  • Perform quality control checks to verify that designs and installation drawings meet project requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, Independent Engineers (IEs), vendors, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of AccuBid experience in the Electrical Solar industry.
  • Proficient in BlueBeam and/or AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of applicable building codes and requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical & structural plan sets.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • High aptitude for problem solving and critical thinking.
