Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy operations and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Medication Management**: Identify and fill medications, surgical kits, medication carts, emergency crash carts, requisitions, and specialty items.
  • **Sterile Compounding**: Prepare sterile compounds and IV admixtures for injection and infusion, including hazardous medications, chemotherapy, and biologics.
  • **Inventory Management**: Maintain accurate inventory of automated dispensing cabinets, rotate floor stock, and reduce outdated medications.
  • **Ordering and Receiving**: Assist in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies.
  • **Quality Control**: Control and check medications outside of the department, perform unit inspections, and emergency cart checks.
  • **Regulatory Compliance**: Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • **Education**: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • **Licensure**: Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR) and Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through PTCB or NHA required for all licensed after 2008.
Preferred Qualifications
  • **Experience**: One year or less of related work experience, demonstrating familiarity with routines and procedures customary to the position.
Work Environment

This is a part-time position, working 40 hours per pay period, with a flexible schedule that includes day shift (6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) or evening shift (2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) weekdays, with no weekends.
