ROLE OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for coordinating a comprehensive range of outreach services to professionals and the community. It involves facilitating suitable referrals to enhance patient census, extend length of stay, and improve care quality through effective communication with referral sources. The role ensures that marketing initiatives align with the strategic marketing framework.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with the Vice-President of Marketing and Provider Relations to create and execute the strategic marketing plan; set measurable objectives that influence patient census; devise action plans for underserved populations that may benefit from hospice services; continuously assess outreach strategies and programs. Build and maintain strong relationships with various professional referral sources and community organizations, including healthcare providers, discharge planners, managed care entities, and other relevant stakeholders; promote awareness and utilization of agency services. Analyze and track referral patterns, admissions, and average length of stay metrics; ensure accurate documentation of marketing and referral activities; report on the effectiveness of outreach efforts in driving growth. Represent the agency at community and professional events; serve as a liaison to community organizations through networking, speaking engagements, and committee participation; establish and maintain partnerships with facilities serving agency patients. Engage in the Quality Assurance/Utilization Review process; provide feedback and follow-up with referral sources regarding quality concerns and service needs. Assist in the planning and delivery of educational programs for healthcare professionals; offer internal training on effective communication with referral sources; collaborate with team members to develop and enhance presentations on end-of-life topics. Participate in agency committees and undertake additional responsibilities as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree in business or public administration is preferred, along with substantial experience in marketing and sales management, ideally within the healthcare sector; or a combination of education and experience that equips the candidate with the necessary skills and knowledge. Extensive knowledge of marketing and community relations. Proficiency in designing and implementing marketing and community outreach programs. Ability to plan, organize, and lead various marketing and outreach initiatives in alignment with organizational goals. Strong representation skills at community and national levels. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Capacity to establish productive working relationships. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Competence in maintaining accurate and confidential records. Valid driver's license and a good driving record. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management software.
