Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Scientist to join our team at the Department of Toxic Substances Control. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in protecting public health and the environment by working on complex environmental issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with DTSC staff, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure expeditious site cleanups that protect human health and the environment.
  • Maintain open communication with responsible parties, project proponents, and consultants regarding project schedules and issues.
  • Prepare and provide annual estimates of DTSC oversight costs to responsible parties and project proponents.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement effective environmental strategies and policies.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders on environmental issues.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Professional licensure or advanced degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
