Job Responsibilities- Specialty: Ob/Gyn Sonography

Key Duties Include:
- Expertly operates ultrasound machinery to conduct general, vascular, and cardiac examinations, distinguishing between normal and abnormal findings.
- Reviews patient medical histories to gather essential clinical data, ensuring accuracy in procedures.
- Positions patients appropriately and selects the correct transducer and technical settings for optimal imaging results.
- Utilizes advanced cognitive skills to adapt procedures based on anatomical and diagnostic information.
- Accurately labels images with patient identifiers and relevant scan details.
- Maintains comprehensive records in compliance with regulatory standards and updates patient information in the radiology information system.
- Identifies and reports equipment issues, while assessing new technologies for potential implementation.
- Analyzes sonographic data and communicates findings to the relevant medical professionals.
- Demonstrates the ability to provide age-appropriate care, understanding the developmental needs of patients.
Licensure and Certification:
- Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration in Abdomen and OB/GYN required within specified timeframes.
- Vascular Technologist (RVT) or equivalent certification needed within designated periods.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months.
Education:
- Completion of an accredited Sonography program beyond high school.
Experience:
- No prior experience necessary.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in general and vascular sonographic procedures.
- Strong judgment skills to differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing environments.
Must be capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and transferring patients, while adhering to safety protocols.
